Abstract
The transition from education to NICU practice is a vulnerable and high‑stakes period for new nurses, requiring rapid clinical, emotional, and professional adaptation. Grounded in the Fundamentals of Care framework, this work reframes orientation as a person‑centered, relational process that supports readiness, well‑being, and sustainable practice.
