Description
Through interdisciplinary education and the creation of an audit process, we have observed a 30.6% reduction in the number of ASA assignment misclassifications.

Introduction
ASA classification is assigned preoperatively by anesthesia to assess health status in order to identify safety concerns that might be encountered during surgery.
ASA classification also influences National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) risk adjustment for quality reporting of surgical outcomes.
