This 30-minute virtual session will overview strategies and techniques to support learners with disabilities in a healthcare setting. Participants will be able to:
- Define disability in a health education setting
- Value learners with disability within a DEI framework
- Recognize the risks of un/mismanaged disability
- Appreciate the role of the preceptor in supporting learners with disabilities

The ME Rural GME Education (MERGE) Collaborative – a partnership with Northern Light Health, Central Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center and Maine-Dartmouth Family Residency Program at Maine General Hospital – will also develop faculty development for rural practitioners and a shared learning platform for an inter-disciplinary and inter-professional rural healthcare providers.
