OBJECTIVES:
1. Describe the recent trends in the epidemiology of measles infections in both the United States and across the world.
2. Identify infants at risk who might qualify for an early first does of MMR between 6 months and year of age.
3. Understand the benefits and limitations of vitamin A supplementation during measles infection and prescribe this therapy appropriately.
4. Implement the best practices in their approach to evaluating and diagnosing potential measles cases to mitigate the risk of infection of other patients and staff.
