Description
This 30-minute virtual session will cover how to approach struggling learners with a neurodiversity lens with the goal of optimizing support efforts.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify ways in which neurodivergent traits may present in the clinical learning environment
- Recognize the strengths and challenges encountered by medical learners with neurodivergent traits
- Consider ways to adapt teaching approaches and environments to support neurodivergent learners, even if not disclosed

The ME Rural GME Education (MERGE) Collaborative – a partnership with Northern Light Health, Central Maine Medical Center, Maine Medical Center and Maine-Dartmouth Family Residency Program at Maine General Hospital – will also develop faculty development for rural practitioners and a shared learning platform for an inter-disciplinary and inter-professional rural healthcare providers.
