About the Author: After several years as a math teacher and engineer, Ed trained as a paramedic at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He worked for 21 years as an emergency department technician in Iowa City and in Biddeford, Maine, and currently is a clinical research coordinator for MaineHealth Institute for Research in Scarborough, Maine. He has published two journal articles describing his research on nursing workload and on ECG technique.
