Abstract
Introduction
• Radical cystectomy (RC) has high complication rates:
•Infections – 25%
• Wound issues – 15%
• Anastomotic leaks – < 1% ¹,⁵
• Leukocytosis is common postoperatively but not predictive of complication type or severity².
• Colorectal literature shows that C-reactive protein (CRP) independently predicts gastrointestinal complications⁴⁻⁶.
• Hypothesis: Elevated CRP on postoperative day (POD) 4 predicts overall and high-grade complications, independent of leukocytosis.
