About JMMC

The Journal of Maine Medical Center (JMMC) was founded by the Department of Medical Education, Maine Medical Center in 2018.  It is an open-access journal devoted to supporting the academic mission through publication of high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly work. Areas of focus include health care innovation, interprofessional healthcare and education, rural medicine and professional engagement and development. 

The contents of JMMC are protected under copyright, however, JMMC grants to all users a perpetual right of access, and a license to copy, use, print, search, and link to articles, subject to proper attribution of authorship and ownership of the rights. I.e., Creative Commons license CC-BY.

The Journal of Maine Medical Center is published two times annually with general issues in the Summer and Winter. Beginning with Volume 5, Issue 2, Summer 2023, JMMC began to publish incrementally. Once a manuscript is accepted, the manuscript will be published in the current issue as soon as it is ready. From time to time a Special Issue may be published.

The Journal of Maine Medical Center does not charge authors article processing or publication fees of any kind.

The Journal of Maine Medical Center follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The publication language of the journal is English.

The Journal of Maine Medical Center does not accept advertisements from third parties.
